Saturday 19+ League Update
Wednesday, November 11, 2009 4:30:03 PM

To ALL Saturday League Players - Here is a full LEAGUE UPDATE regarding your 19+ Hockey League. Please review all the details below:

First off, I would like to apologize for the delay in your season schedule. As I have spoken to many of you regarding this, I did not have the ability to divide the league divisions myself, as this had to take place through our web team. Over the last week and a half, there were many issues that they were experiencing, but they have now been taken care of.

Your full season schedule is now available by clicking here:
http://cambridge-ice-park.ezleagues.ezfacility.com/leagues/67356/2009-10-Saturday-19%2b-Hockey-League-C.aspx

The following are news and notes regarding the remainder of the season:

1) Smoking has been a big issue over the past few weeks. Please note that like any other establishment, there is a NO SMOKING POLICY in place here at the Cambridge Ice Park. Due to many players abusing this system, a new policy is now being implemented by our management at the facility, so please take note: ANY team caught smoking (whether through smelling it through your room or catching a player with a cigarette), that team will automatically forfeit their NEXT week's game - NO QUESTIONS ASKED! Aside from the fact that it's just plain ignorance for smoking indoors, keep in mind that there are many children in the building particularly early in the day with our skating school, and it's not fair for anyone to be exposed to this. I will be monitoring this closely, so please be advised!

2) There are a couple of exemption dates on your schedule:
- December 26th (Boxing Day)
- January 9th (Ringette Tournament)
- February 13th (Tri-City Winter Classic Tournament)
Details will be available soon regarding the Winter Classic. Last year, we had a great turnout with many of our Saturday teams involved. We expect an even bigger turnout this February!

3) Regarding the division splits: Please note that before breaking the teams into different divisions, I incorporated previous scores and match-ups before making my final decisions. As you are all aware, we have opted to break the league into THREE Divisions. Essentially the "A" Division this year consists of very high caliber teams is one division. The "B" Division is really a combination of former "A" teams that have been dropped down along with the top "B" teams. The "C" Division is essentially a "B" caliber division but includes match-ups that should be fairly even each week. These splits have been made to help better our league with what we expect to be close competitiion each week. This will also give more teams the opportunity to advance in this year's playoffs!

4) To any players that are interested, I have a couple of teams throughout my Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Leagues that are looking for an extra player or two to fill their roster for the rest of the season. If any of you are looking to play an extra night each week, please let me know, and I will pass you along the Captain's information.

Thanks guys, we'll see you this Saturday.

Steve Duncan

4:00pm Scorpions v Ice Park 1
4:30pm KW Glass v Black Aces
5:00pm Top Guns v Dirty Beavers

If the division revisions are made by tomorrow, I will delete this news posting, and update the schedule online with all of the remaining games (with of course these game times staying as is).

**Thursday Schedule - now completed**
Wednesday, November 04, 2009 6:41:15 PM

Your Thursday 19+ schedule is now complete.

Please note, that teams will have a mix of late vs. early game times. It's impossible to schedule the season so that ALL teams will rotate perfectly each week, so you may notice that from time to time you have a few weeks in a row with a late time slot followed by back to back early slots the following few weeks. Again, everyone's schedule is different, but very balanced.

Thanks guys, we'll see you Thursday.

**FULL SEASON SCHEDULE COMPLETED**
Monday, November 02, 2009 7:28:01 PM

Gentleman, your schedule is now completed online. Please read below as I have detailed the league format for this season:

The Tuesday League has been a difficult division to schedule due to the wide range of skill levels per teams this season. Therefore I have come up with a schedule that I feel is fair to ALL teams so that they are matched up with teams of similar calibers each week.

Realistically, we have a league comprised of 4 "A" Division and teams and 10 "B/C" Division teams. For the teams that I have ranked as "B" teams - you will play a cross between "A", "B", and "C" teams (however mostly comprising of "B" and "C"). "A" teams will never play "C" teams.

The League has been broken down as follows:

"A" - 4 teams
"B" - 4"teams
"C" - 6 teams

"A" teams will play each other for three weeks in a row, followed by a match-up with one of the "B" teams to get a crack at some new faces. "B" teams will mix between "B", then "A" then "C" throughout the season. "C" teams will mainly play "C" teams but will match up occasionally with "B" teams. It may sound confusing, but rest assured - it's a fair system that will allow teams to play relatively evenly matched games each and every week while getting to see different teams throughout the season.

Once we arrive to playoff time, I will be splitting the league into two true separate divisions ("A" & "B") depending on the final standings at the end of the season and results from regular season play.

Captain's - if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at anytime.

To all players, thanks for your patience with the schedule, guys - we look forward to a great remainder of the season!

Regards,

Steve Duncan
League Coordinator
Cambridge Ice Park

TO ALL TUESDAY TEAMS:

Your schedule is now online - but it is currently being updated. Please do not refer to what you see on this current schedule. Your official schedule will be complete within the next 24 hours. I will place another news bulletin online to confirm this, as well as an explanation of the division splits for this season.

So once again, please do not refer to the current schedule - as I have no control over it appearing online before I make adjustments and changes. There will be many changes made to what you currently see.

Thank you,
Steve

**Saturday 19+ Hockey Teams - PLEASE READ**
Tuesday, September 29, 2009 4:47:35 PM

To ALL Saturday Hockey Teams:

Your schedule is now online for the first five weeks of play. PLEASE NOTE - that there is no guarantee that you will be staying in the division that you are currently slotted in for the entire season. Currently the league is split up into 8 "A" teams and 14 "B" teams. After the fifth week of play, we may be changing this to 10 "A" and 12 "B" or potentially an "A", "B", and "C" split. Again, the results of the first five weeks will help us determine our final decision. Once the divisions have been adjusted, there will be no further changes.

In the meantime, Captain's - please remember to hand in your roster sheets (extras available at the front desk) before your first game to your League Convener Derek. (He will be on hand every Saturday afternoon should you have any questions). ALSO - as mentioned in the Captain's Meeting, please keep a copy of our league rules with you and inform your teammates of any changes/modifications that we have made to this season.

See you all Saturday - good luck in your first week of play.

Steve Duncan
League Coordinator

**Thursday Hockey Teams - PLEASE READ**
Tuesday, September 29, 2009 1:14:16 PM

Hello gentleman,

Your schedule for the first five weeks is now available. Please note that we currently have a handful of extra players looking to join the league, however not enough to comprise two full teams. At the moment they are on the outside looking in. We would like to accommodate them immediately and create an EIGHT team league, however the schedule needed to be created as soon as possible for our existing teams.

With that said, we would still like to work out these two remaining teams, which is why we have just scheduled the first five weeks of play. Should any of you know an extra player or two looking to play, then please have them contact me as soon as possible. Also - should these teams fill in over the next week, your current schedule could change as we input them into your league. We will give you plenty of notice should this occur.

Should any of you have any questions, then feel free to contact me. We look forward to a great season guys!

Thanks,

Monday Men's & Co-ed Schedule Update
Monday, September 28, 2009 6:01:52 PM

Hi guys,

It looks like that's two straight weeks of nasty weather for us. We're hoping the rain stays away for next Monday. Through talking to all of the teams, the general consensus was to play the semis and finals games next Monday, October 5th, so this was we have opted to do.

The schedule has now been updated online.

Thanks guys, see you next week (hopefully!)

Regards,
Steve

**Wednesday 30+ League Information - PLEASE READ**
Monday, September 28, 2009 12:30:55 PM

Hello gentleman,

Your schedule is now available. Please note that recent adjustments have been made to scheduled games (after October 14th) as of 12:00pm Monday morning. Should you have checked out the full schedule prior to this time, please refer back to the schedule as a few of your game times may have been adjusted.

Here is some important information to pass along to all of you:

This season the league is comprised of 10 teams. To keep things fair, I have scheduled the first NINE weeks of play - so every team will get the chance to play everyone. Once teams have played their first nine games, I will determine whether or not to break the team into two divisions or keep one large division. Should we opt to go with a 10 team division, we may look into splitting up into two divisions for the playoffs. I will keep everyone posted in regards to this. We want to provide the best possible scenario that will work out for entire league.

Thanks guys - we'll see you this Wednesday.

Regards,
Steve

**Tuesday Winter Hockey Teams PLEASE READ**
Friday, September 25, 2009 5:13:25 PM

To ALL Tuesday Winter Teams:

Your first five games are now scheduled online. Since many teams are new to the league and/or have changed up their line-ups for this season, for the first five games the league will be one division. After Week 5, the league will be split into two divisions based on teams performances for the first five games. The split may be 8 "A" and 6 "B" or 6 "A" and 8 "B" - again, based on the results from the first five weeks of play.

ALSO - Team Captains, please remember to submit your roster forms on Tuesday night so your players will be entered and their stats can be accumulated right away.

We look forward to a great season!

See you all Tuesday,

Steve Duncan
