**Original Six Playoff Format - PLEASE READ!**
Sunday, April 15, 2012 3:25 AM

Gentleman, your playoff schedules are now available. Please review the playoff format below:

All six teams make the playoffs. Each team will play three round-robin games with the match-ups based on the final regular season standings. (Top seeded teams will play lower seeded teams, and vice-versa). Top four teams will advance to the semis, with those two winners playing in the finals:

Thursday, May 10th: Semi-finals
1st v 4th
2nd v 3rd

Thursday, May 17th: FINALS

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

1) Do NOT bring out any illegal players for the playoffs! We will be keeping a close eye on this. Any team found with an illegal player will automatically forfeit the game. This includes goaltenders.
2) OT in the playoff round-robin is identical to regular season play (same shootout system will apply)
3) In the semis and the finals, teams will skate to a 10 minute (run-time) 4 on 4 OT period. If nothing is settled after the extra frame, a three-man NHL style shootout will take place with Home team's choice (higher ranked seed) of which team shoots first.
4) In case of a tie, the following tie-breakers will take place:

a) Head-to-Head
b) Most Wins
c) LEAST goals against
d) Head-to-head regular season record
e) LEAST penalized team in playoffs

Good luck to all teams!
